Community Health Needs Assessment Implementation Strategy

Llano Regional Hospital

Date: September 17, 2026

Our Community Health Needs Assessment, (CHNA) was completed in November 2025 and updated in September 2026. Areas of concern have been identified as:

Priority Health Needs

  • Access to quality, affordable medical care-including specialty and mental health care-limited by provider shortages, treacle distance and cost.
  • Food insecurity and limited access to fresh, affordable and healthy food.
  • Housing affordability and availability, and the interconnected affordability of childcare and wages.

Implementation Goals and Strategies

Action item number 1: To address the priority health need for access to quality and affordable medical care, Llano Regional Hospital (the “hospital”) made targeted investments in clinical capacity, workforce recruitment, and modern medical technology. The hospital opened a new medical clinic with a pending Rural Health Clinic designation and recruited two new healthcare providers, directly mitigating local provider shortages, increasing appointment availability, and enhancing healthcare affordability for rural and underserved patients. Additionally, the hospital upgraded patient care equipment and installed a new CT scanner with cardiac scoring capabilities to enhance local diagnostic quality and clinical capabilities. These initiatives ensure residents have access to high-quality, cost-effective medical and diagnostic care close to home, reducing the necessity and expense of traveling out of the area for treatment.

Action item number 2: A strategic planning session on October 15-16, 2026, with the Board, Administration and key stakeholders from the community and hospital staff. During our Strategic Planning Session, the CHNA will be reviewed so we can develop a strategy along with funding priorities to meet the other health needs identified in the CHNA.

Evaluation and Reporting Plan

As the CEO for our facility, I will oversee tracking progress and reporting the progress at our monthly Board Meetings.

Approval and Adoption

This Implementation Strategy was developed in response to the 2025 CHNA and will guide Llano Regional Hospital’s community health improvement efforts for fiscal years 2025, 2026 and 2027.
