Llano Regional Hospital announces the hiring of Linda Walker, MBA to serve as chief executive officer for the newly independent hospital. Walker joins the hospital in the full-time role effective today.
“We couldn’t ask for a better person to take on this leadership role,” said David Willmann, president, board of directors, Llano Regional Hospital. “Linda is a veteran of rural healthcare. She understands rural healthcare’s challenges and opportunities and shares our vision for a thriving local healthcare system.”

Walker will oversee all operations and work with the hospital board of directors and Llano County Hospital Authority to recruit additional clinical talent, secure payer contracts, and continue developing the hospital’s infrastructure to serve the community.
The hospital and Llano County Hospital Authority worked with the Texas Organization of Rural and Community Hospitals (TORCH) on a national search for the position.
Walker served most recently as the CEO of Val Verde Regional Medical Center in Del Rio, a role she held for more than five years after serving as its chief operations officer. She has a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Phoenix and an undergraduate degree from Texas State University.
“I appreciate the trust the board and hospital authority have placed in me at this critical juncture for the hospital,” said Walker. “There’s never been a more challenging time for rural hospitals, and I relish the opportunity to work with this dedicated team of community leaders and staff to make sure the Llano region has the healthcare system and access it deserves for generations to come.”
Llano Regional Hospital recently received generous philanthropic gifts from the Tom and Mary Phema Moore Hospital Trust and the Tom and Mary Phema Moore Charitable Trust to support ongoing operations.
